Terry Gilberstadt, Scott Plum
David Kray introduced today’s speaker, Scott Plum, who spoke on the importance of commitment in taking the necessary steps toward desired goals.
Everyone experiences daily pressures and pitfalls in life. Many are stymied by adversity and unable to see the way to move forward. We often know what to do, but don’t do it. Or we may not have all the information we need or the perspective required to escape our rut.
Having enough time is not the issue.
As Scott says, “We control what we trade our time for.” When we are not sleeping, eating or working, we are managing the time we devote to education, exercise and entertainment. And if you’re like most of us education and exercise are lagging way behind.
To commit to change we have to acquire a different way of thinking.
Focus on awareness. What are you doing that you know you should not be doing? What should you do?

Your success will be determined by your commitment when approaching a difficult task. And as Scott says, “If you do what is easy, life will be hard. If you do what is hard, life will be easy.”
Scott is the Founder and President of the Minnesota Sales Institute. He has more than 30 years of experience in training in workshops, classes and one-on-one coaching and consulting. And, as he proudly declares, he is a salesperson. His book, Taking Off into the Wind—Creating Lift Out of Life. is an inspirational book for salespeople.
“We are all salespeople”, he says, “People who have an impact on experiences and an influence in the outcome of relationships or conversations. And that’s all of us when you think about it.”
